Safe Quit Drinking Method

The very first technique I used on quitting drinking was perhaps exclusive to me. I had never heard of anything like it before: I call it THE SLEEP TECHNIQUE. It is a very easy way of quitting drinking. The result of the technique was quite astonishing and I advice you to try it out.
I decided to take five days off, stayed at home for five days and do nothing but sleep: that’s sleeping, getting up, eating, doing some personal routine, going back to bed and going to sleep again. I repeated this sequence each day. I did nothing else, I had no pressure. No communication with the outside world and it means no friends can trigger my desire to drink.
On the sixth day I got up and report to work. At the end of the day, I went to church and thank HIM.
From that day, I never touched a single bottle of alcohol again.
I must have read somewhere that by the third or fourth day your body can actually overcome the power of physical desire and you just had to work on the mental part. I believe that if my body wasn't all that excited, definitely I could control my mind. I made it five days without alcohol on my body and it was surprising.
I remember the way I began to think about drinking; I was about ten years old. I was riding my bicycle in front of our house with a neighborhood buddy. We were chatting about what grown-ups did: going to the party, drinking beers and smoking cigarette. I remember saying, "Yes, I will drink." I made a conscious conclusion and it is nothing but sophistication. Most adults smoked and I know it is exciting.
I realized now that I never really liked the taste of wine. I was hooked probably because of the so called sophisticated environment. The people surrounding me are all hooked to alcohol. It is a fact that young people copy certain actions of adults. And in my child’s mind, drinking is a normal thing to do. Drinking is a part of being mature and responsible.
At this moment, I am determined to quit. The Sleep Technique was a big part of my success. It is a technique that can be considered everyone as an easy way to quit drinking alcohol.
I have mentioned some questions to reflect on. The answers to these questions will provide motivation to focus you on the right track to quit.
Here’s another easy way of how one can be motivated to decide on quitting from alcohol.
I have plenty of friends, people who I trust and love. The sad part is that I realized now that they are not worth treasuring.
I now categorize them as drinking buddies. They only get in touch with me when they need a good time. They will only appear every time you are drinking. But, in times of trouble they’re hard to find. I’m not judging anyone here. This is only an analysis from my previous experience.
At present, they can’t find time to know what’s happening to me. They know I am giving up alcohol. They know I am on my road to recovery. But still, they’ve never showed up. No encouragement, no moral support, nothing. Needless to say, they know they have nothing to gain from me.
Well, that’s life. Loose some, win some. I loose them but I have given the chance to gain my life back as I quit drinking.
I thought of this: my drinking buddies only give me influence that triggers my cravings to drink. They offer something that I can’t resist due to my uncontrolled attitude. The lack of power that occurs within me allows the desire to penetrate. It is the road that leads me to start another cycle that leads to nowhere.
It is not the main cause of getting hooked to alcohol but it is one of the many reasons.
Here is my advice. Choose the people you hang out with. Know their motives in order for you to assess the real situation. Don’t get too close when you’ve just known them. Real friends are the one that stick with you through thick and thin no matter what, no matter how. They bring out the best in you. Sad to say, my friends whom I know wasn’t that good.
But I know I can stop from drinking alcohol with or without them. This is how strong my determination is. Quitting drinking is a hard task but I think I’ve motivated myself enough. It’s as easy as one-two-three now.
